Besides dozens of gold and platinum awards, Johnny Cash’s “Unchained” album won the Grammy Award for the “Best Country Album” in 1997. Sylvia engineered and mixed the “Unchained” project with Rick Rubin, featuring performances from Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Carl Perkins, Marty Stuart, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, June Carter Cash and the legendary Man In Black. Sylvia also produced Lisa Haley’s “King Cake” album which was nominated for the “Best Zydeco Album” Grammy in 2007.
Sylvia was awarded for her years of service on the National Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences (NARAS) P&E Wing Steering Committee. She still holds a position on the NARAS P&E Wing’s Advisory Board and is active in the advocacy programs championed by the Grammy organization.
